1976 : Monotype Introduced the Monotype Lasercomp

The first commercially successful laser typesetting machine, Monotype's Lasercomp, once again made use of the newest
technology in order to streamline and perfect the type composition process. With this latest milestone in the printing process,
Monotype typographers began providing type in digital format.

1990 : Monotype Fonts Licensed to Microsoft

Monotype converted its famous Classic Library of typeface designs to computer industry standard formats, including both PostScript and TrueType formats, and began licensing its fonts to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and independent software vendors (ISVs) such as Microsoft. With the inclusion of Monotype TrueType fonts in such landmark operating systems as Windows 3.1, Windows 95, and Windows NT, Monotype rose to the forefront of the OEM and ISV markets and Monotype fonts became a household name.

1997 : Monotype Celebrated 100th Anniversary

One hundred years after its inception, Monotype remains at the forefront of publishing and printing technology with a wide range
cof product offerings for consumers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and independent software vendors (ISVs). These include custom font development, fonts optimized for on-screen viewing (ESQ fonts), non-Latin (foreign language) fonts, consumer software solutions, as well as thousands of quality typeface designs for today's publishers.
